TEMECULA: Wine Country, city manager, Dylan Winmann and Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you’re all doing well and you’re enjoying a wonderful day with loved ones. It’s been pretty dead this week, but here’s a look at what we can expect next week:

On Tuesday the Temecula City Council will finally decide whether to formally fire Bob Johnson as City Manager. If so, we should be hearing details about how much he’ll receive in severance pay shortly thereafter.

Also next week I’ll be checking in with some ongoing water concerns in Wildomar and hopefully get an update on what it’s going to cost the county to consider allowing churches to open in Wine Country.

I’m also working the Friday after Thanksgiving, but hopefully all of you will remain calm, peaceful and sober enough while cooking to avoid starting a house fire.

Lastly, we’ve heard that the service for 15-year-old Dylan Weinmann will be Saturday. Dylan died in his sleep this week, an unimaginable loss for his family, friends, the school and humanity in general. We had hoped to cover the service, however the family has requested privacy and we will of course honor that. But that doesn’t mean we can’t all send positive thoughts to the Wienmann family this weekend. I will be thinking about them on Saturday. I hope you will too.

Have a very safe and wonderfully fulfilling holiday everyone. Don’t drink and drive, tell your family you love them and enjoy yourselves today.

Peace and love,

Nelsy
